On November 6, 2016, Dr. Purshotam Lal performed a groundbreaking procedure at Metro Heart Institute in Noida. This marked the world’s first hybrid case utilizing the Venibri aortic valve (Venus MedTech & Colibri Heart Valve), pre-crimped and ready to use, for aortic valve replacement (TAVR) alongside the stenting of a main artery. The Venibri aortic valve from Venus Medtech, initially used for the first time in Argentina, was employed for the second time globally in this procedure by Dr. Lal. This innovative approach combined Venibri TAVR with Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) and stenting of the main artery (LAD). Remarkably, the entire hybrid procedure, including the angioplasty and stenting, was completed in less than 45 minutes.
