Credited as the ‘Father of Intervention Cardiology in India’, Dr. Lal has been a pioneer in introducing the largest number of innovations in interventional cardiology as an alternative to open-heart surgery in India. For his commitment and contribution in the field of healthcare, Dr. Lal was bestowed with the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 2003, the Padma Vibhushan in 2009 and was honoured with the prestigious Dr. BC Roy National Award by the President of India for developing interventional cardiology in the country.
